“Evan…. When I hear that name, I think of the person willing to go above and beyond for his clients. I think of the person who spends countless hours editing every piece he creates. I think of the man who captures the beauty of any subject. I think of the countless hours he’s spent perfecting the craft, the years of mentorships, the years of “bad” photos to get where he is now, and the years of dedication. Evan started photographing me in college and our first session was in the middle of a dorm room kitchen with a refrigerator and milk as a prop. Now, he photographs the beautiful love I share with a man who makes me smile in photos.

From the beginning stages of Evan’s photography, he has shown dedication and grace with every photo. He further pushed himself to not only find his “style,” but to also become one of the best Midwestern photographers. Through all of his style phases, I always think “This man can’t possibly get any better,” and then he reveals another session that makes my jaw drop and the angels rejoice. Though his niche is portrait photography, my favorite photos actually come from the beautiful candid of my partner and I. Prior to this, I didn’t get photos with any other partner, until Evan talked me into doing one with my current partner. I swear Evan captured the exact moments of deep chemistry that are hard to capture on camera. I’ve never been shy in front of a camera but as the years came by and my hips got wider and my face got rounder, I wasn’t the most comfortable in front of a camera and often hid behind it. This wasn’t going to fly with Evan because he sees beauty in every person he shoots with! He really makes you look at yourself and realize the beauty that exists in what someone may consider a “flaw.”

His photos have improved SIGNIFICANTLY throughout the years, and he shows courage and dedication with his editing style and the themes he created for himself thus far. While I want to say the dark, moody aesthetic he does is my favorite editing style, it will soon change and once again as he evolves. I’ll be loving the new style he creates for himself. He’s constantly rebranding and showing that he goes beyond just the molds that photographers are placed in.

Evan is nothing short of an angel behind the camera, but he is also hilarious, witty, inviting, and sarcastic. Every shoot with him is like hanging out with your best friend because he is personable. He will definitely be there to shoot my engagement, my wedding, and my family one day. As long as he continues photographing, he will be there for every moment and he should be there for yours, too. I recommend Evan to anyone because you get the quality of a photographer, but also a best friend for life.”
